RSV - Page 2 - Just Us Parents

I'm so sorry! RSV is a really hard thing to deal with. Michael had it really bad when he was between 4 and 5 months and was in the hospital for 3 weeks with it. He's actually had it 2x since then but it hasn't been as bad. I don't know if they told you but once they've had it they are very susceptible to it.. There is also a slight chance it could bring on childhood asthma. Keep up on the nebs.. If you can, while she's sleeping you can do blow by nebs and hold it close to her nose/mouth. I found that really helped with Michael as he wasn't putzing around and he was getting the full effect of it.

I hope she feels better soon. Also, if you are not seeing a ton of improvement ask (if they already didn't give you) for pulmicort to add in the neb with the abuterol.

Poor baby. I'm so glad it isn't so bad that she had to be admitted. RSV can really hammer a baby

Hope she's feeling even better today, than she was yesterday after her treatments.

just an update:

kailee is feeling much much better

yesterday was her last day with the breathing treatments..thank goodness. i don't think she liked the way they made her feel

she was the crankiest lil thing about 30 mins after she had them and wouldn't nap any longer then 20 mins at a time or i had to be holding her...and even then she would cry uncontrollable with no way to calm her down for a good 15- 20 mins

but today!! she's napping and smiling...she still has her cough but not coughing as often and it doesn't seem to be bugging her like it was and no more wheezing.
she has her 4 month check up on thursday so hopefully her ped says all it well....

So glad to read she is feeling so much better today, and that she's even broke out the smiles for you!

Those breathing treatments can be rough. They speed up the heart rate, cause a hyper active feeling, and a jittery feeling even in adults. So I'm sure she just wasn't liking how different those treatments were making her feel. Glad she's done with those!

I am glad she is feeling better...
Speaking from my own experience those treatments are horrible they make you feel all jittery so for a baby i bet it is awful until she sees how much better she feels..
