Booster seat? - Page 2 - Just Us Parents

I prefer to keep mine in an actual carseat as long as possible. Aryka is 7 years old and by next year, she legally doesn't even have to be in a booster seat anymore. But she also doesn't even weigh 40 lbs yet, so she is still in a carseat.

I would just do whatever you feel comfortable with. If she's big enough to meet the weight restrictions for a booster seat and you're okay with it, go for it.

When we got our new van, it had a 5 point harness car seat built into one of the seats. Will used that for the first couple of months. But a few weeks ago, we switched him to a booster seat. It is one of the convertible car seat / booster seat models, so all I did was take out the buckles & now we use the car seat belt. He feels like a "big boy" in the booster, as opposed to feeling like a baby still in the car seat.

Arianna is about the same, weight-wise, as Olivia. She probably should still be in a back-less booster but she isn't. We used one for awhile but it seemed to be more of a hassle. The seats in the van have a slot for the seat belt to slip through to keep it off her neck & in the right position.

Ariana was around 2 when I switched her.

Ayden and Alexa are still in their Britax Marathons. They go up to 65 pounds. They're pretty big, and they haven't outgrown it yet. Lex is about 44lb, but Ayden is only 32lb right now, so we still have awhile. I like the safety that a 5 point harness/seatbelt provides.

Ciara has the high back pink flower booster... She didnt fit the infant.toddler car seat anymore... She is in the 30-50 pound range and really tall.

She really loves it and she fits better in it.

Watch out, though... we bought a different one, and it was for a much older child. Make sure it has the 5 point harness on it, and tethers to the seat.

the older boosters are for 5 and 50 lbs.

I just made the switch for my oldest daughter to the booster seat hers is a pink flower one too it is even flo brand it has a back on it and the box says it is required that the back be used till over 40lbs not sure what the height is, after that the back can come off to make a backless booster, like it was said in a previous post I feel better having the back on it plus it helps keep the seat belt where its supposed to be and not cutting her neck

I havent even thought about this! Ill have to check the weight and height limits on the carseats!

Both my girls are still in 5 points carseats..... They both covert to boosters and up to 100 pounds....Caitlyn is 5 yrs and only 37 pounds and Sydney is 3 and 30 pounds I am keeping them in the 5 point harness until they grow out of it... I just feel they are safer in them then a seat belt.

Kayla was switched last April, she finally got to 40 lbs when she was 4 years and 8 months.

Corwin was only switched over on Thursday last week. He is just in the last month at 40 lbs he is 3 years 7 months.
