migraines. - Just Us Parents

I developed a stress migraine this afternoon, and it wont go away. I took 3 Advil.

I hope that this isnt the a trend. its the 2nd or 3rd time this has happened in the last 3 weeks.

I get migraines on a regular basis, usually 2+ times a month. I take Excedrine Migraine. If I catch it early enough, I can take 1 & be fine. If I wait too long (because sometimes I try to fool myself into thinking I can just 'tough it out'

), then I have to take 2, drink a big glass of water & Diet Pepsi, plus hide in my room in the dark for awhile.

I hope you don't keep getting the migraines. They are so not fun.

it's ironic that you posted this because i've had this same headache for 3 days now and i think today it's turned into a migraine

nothing is helping it and i really shouldn't be on the computer lol

i hope your migraine gets better, i HATE the stupid things.

I used to get them all the time until I stopped eating meat. Not sure if it had anything to do with it but it's a funny coincidence. My mother got them all the time but I really don't get them much anymore. Cold compress and advil is the only thing that helped when I did get them.

I have had migraines since I was 3 yrs old. I get them anywhere from 1x week to almost daily. I am allergic to all the non steroid anti inflammatory so that means that all I can take is Tylenol for them-which does absolutely nothing for them. I used to take Vicoden for them but after a while even that became worthless.

I have figured out my "triggers" such as very quick changes in climate-yay for living in CO!! Also lots of cheese, chocolate, PMS, and caffeine withdrawals.

I usually just try and work my way through them-had one yesterday in fact but if they get to the point of unbearable then I go too my room, pack my head in ice like it is an expensive piece of meat and try and sleep it off. I have also found that for whatever reason if I can vomit (which they tend to make me nauseous anyway) than they go away faster.

I hope your goes away soon and that you are back to feeling better and that this does not become a trend for you!

I started getting migraines about a year and a half ago. They're miserable! I alternate Excedrine Migraine and Ibuprofen every 3 hours, and I massage peppermint oil and lavendar oil into pressure points on my head and feet. It doesn't take the pain completely away, but it turns it into more of a slight headache than a pounding migraine.

There are other oils that work (maybe better) I just use those two because I always keep them around. There's also an herb that my sister and SIL use. I think it's called Migra-few? I've never used it, but it seems to work well for her.

I went to bed last night at 7:30 pm with a HOT rice bag (with Herbals) on my eyes. It relaxed me, and I slept a full 8.

I got up and all day its been Dull aching. I think Its stress. It has just started.

I did eat a bunch of crap yesterday.
